On May 5, China’s first single-aisle trunk liner developed by China completely in accordance with the world advanced standards completed its maiden flight at Shanghai Pudong International Airport successfully at 14:00 on May 5th, 2017. C919 owning independent intellectual property is a symbolized project of building Innovative Country, with the efforts made by the most brilliant design talents and engineering talents. The development staff, focusing on advanced aerodynamic configuration, structural materials and airborne system, planed 102 technical key problems to tackle, including aircraft and engine integration, fly-by-wire system control law, active control technology etc.

To enforce the team building of IP talents, further strengthen the team and improve the structure and layout of the team, SIPO developed the 2nd National Patent Information Practice Talents Selection. Through public enrollment, differential selection and recommendation in regional intellectual property offices, SIPO reexamined and confirmed 336 talents chosen in the National Patent Information Practice Talents data base in the second batch.

 

China's first intellectual property protection center of robots and smart hardware, which was signed with Changzhou, Jiangsu province, during an advanced manufacturing industry fair in the city, is designed to promote the sector's healthy growth and reduce costs of maintaining rights. The center will offer a range of IP services, including patent filings, dispute conciliation, legal risk pre-warning and patent navigation research.

 

SIPO issued China's report on patent power scorecard in 2016 (Report) which has been consecutively published for 6 years. In 2016, the overall power scorecard of China's patents steadily improved and Guangdong, Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Shanghai, Hunan, Chongqing, Anhui, Sichuan were the top ten provinces, which were generally good in terms of their good matching of patents with technological innovation and industrial development, and thus enhanced the quality of regional innovation and development.

 

China IP launched a wholly new dialogical news commentary program on April 26, IP Observers. The new program provides an aggregation platform of general IP media and will be broadcasted on 26th of each month. The first and second episodes respectively invited the vice president of China IP Law Association and former vice presiding judge of IP Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court, Jin Kesheng, chairman of the AliMusic Group, Song Ke and professor and executive vice president of Peking University, Zhang Ping to talk about the future of original music in China; the professor of Law School of SUN YAT-SEN University and vice secretary-general of China IP Law Association, Li Yang, and former judge of Beijing Intellectual Property Court, Li Yanrong to have a discussion of “gray industrial chain of copyright”.
