On January 28, 2018, the 8th China IP International Annual Forum & 2018 Annual Conference of In-house IP Managers in China ended successfully. The 2018 Film and Television Cultural Industry Forum was held in Xiamen, Fujian province on Jan 18 to help Huli district of Xiamen integrate its cultural resources and promote development of its film and television industry. Experts on intellectual property protection, copyright trading and cultural investment as well as representatives from the district's relevant government agencies and cultural and creative enterprises attended the forum.
2018 Conference of Heads from National IP Offices kicks off in Beijing
On January 4, 2018 Conference of Heads from National IP Offices was held in Beijing. SIPO commissioner Shen Changyu reviewed the progress of IP work especially in2017 since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (NCCPC), in the report titled "Deepen the Implementation of the Spirit of the 19th NCCPC to Create a New Situation on the Reform and Development of IP Undertaking in the New Era". According to the report, the number of patent applications reached 1,382,000 in 2017,increased by 14.2% from the same period last year, and744,000 cases were concluded.
