Blockchain technology patents in 2020 accounted for 9.7%

On July 28, the 2021 Zhongguancun Financial Technology and Financial Security Summit were held in Beijing. At the meeting, Liu Yong, Secretary-General of Zhongguancun Financial Technology Industry Development Alliance and Dean of Zhongguancun Internet Finance Research Institute, released the "2021 China Financial Technology Patent Technology Report".

 

According to the "Report", since 2016, more than 17,000 companies have applied for fintech-related patents in China, with a total of more than 91,000 patents; big data analysis, cloud computing, and interconnection technologies account for the highest proportion, and the number of other underlying technology patents is increasing stably; blockchain technology grew explosively. The proportion of patents increased from 0.4% in 2015 to 9.7% in 2020.
