Texas-based Sovereign Peak Ventures, LLC (SPV) on February 3 filed a patent lawsuit in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against ASUSTek Computer Inc. (华硕电脑股份有限公司) for infringement of U.S. Patent No. 7,158,148 covering, U.S. Patent No. 8,902,871, U.S. Patent No. 9,357,441, and U.S. Patent No. 10,039,144. The 4 asserted patents all cover a wireless base station and wireless communication terminal and wireless communication system. These patents were invented by employees of Panasonic Corporation.
Sovereign Peak Ventures is a subsidiary of Dominion Harbor Enterprises (DHE), a patent transaction and advisory company. In 2019, DHE purchased its second large portfolio of high-value Panasonic technology patents consisting of approximately 1,000 patented inventions.
ASUSTek is a Taiwan-based multinational computer and phone hardware and electronics company. It is the world's 5th-largest PC vendor by unit sales as of January 2021.

German underwater scooter maker Cayago Tec and its US subsidiary Cayago Americas on February 1 filed a patent infringement in in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida against iAQUA (Hong Kong) Limited for infringement of US Patent No. 9,774,019 covering a rechargeable battery unit for a watercraft, US Patent No. 7,963,814 covering an electric motor-driven water craft, which is cooled by the surrounding water, and US Patent No. 9,694,888 covering watercraft comprising a redundant energy accumulator.
A diver propulsion vehicle (DPV), also known as an underwater propulsion vehicle or underwater scooter, or swimmer delivery vehicle (SDV) by armed forces, is an item of diving equipment used by scuba divers to increase range underwater.
The case is 0:22-cv-60219, Cayago Tec, GmbH, et al v. iAQUA (Hong Kong) Limited.
