Mr. Valentin Mikhailyuk is the first patent and trademark attorney registered in Ukraine, the founder and CEO of “Mikhailyuk, Sorokolat and Partners”.

 

Graduated in Physics Engineering (Moscow Physics and Engineering Institute), Patent Science and Patent Law (Kharkov Central Institute of Professional Development) and Jurisprudence (The Interregional Academy of Personnel Management).

 

More than 45 years of IP practice. For about 20 years he was working alongside with the most qualified IP specialists from all over the USSR, being the Head of the Patent and License Department in the USSR Academy of Science.

 

After collapse of the Soviet Union Mr. Valentin Mikhailyuk was involved in the formation of the IP system of the independent Ukraine. In 1992 he obtained Patent and Trademark Attorney License No.1. In the same year “Mikhailyuk, Sorokolat and Partners” was founded.

 

In 2003 Mr. Valentin Mikhailyuk was attested as a court expert in the field of IP Law and now conducts court examinations; specializes in national and international patents for inventions in a wide range of technologies as well as trademark and copyright prosecution, intellectual property licensing, infringement, and unfair competition matters.

 

Mr. Valentin Mikhailyuk has been oftentimes awarded as a leading IP practitioner in Ukraine by various industry rankings such as: “Leading Individual” (“Legal 500“), “Ukrainian Patent Expert” (“Expert Guides”), “Ukrainian Trademark Expert” (“Expert Guides”), “Leading IP Practitioner in Ukraine” (“Who's Who Legal: Patents”), “Leading Practitioner in Ukraine” (“World Trademark Review” (WTR 1000) 2018).
