Avanci Broadcast adds China-based NERC-DTV as Licensor

Avanci Broadcast, the one-stop licensing platform for ATSC 3.0 launched in March 2023,  announced on May 22 the addition of four new licensors, NERC-DTV, ETRI, KPN, and NEC, based in China, Japan, the Netherlands and South Korea respectively. Avanci Broadcast patent pool thereby increased coverage of ATSC 3.0 standard-essential patent families to 80%. Existing licensees (LG, Samsung, Sharp, Sony) are now automatically licensed to the new licensors' ATSC 3.0 SEPs as well, at no additional cost.
