China has become the largest patent producer of key technologies for the Internet of Vehicles, according to the “White Paper on Intellectual Property of Internet of Vehicles (2022)” released at the 3rd China International Vehicles of Internet Technology Conference. Statistics also suggests that by May 2022, global patent applications for the Internet of vehicles had reached 125,326, with main applicants distributed in traditional auto-manufacturers, automotive components manufacturers, communication enterprises and Internet high-tech enterprises. In terms of research strength, Japanese and American enterprises still lead the industry.
